Second straight day of ELEVEN hits - yesterday FOUR homers, today TWO (Gross, Liddi).  The most impressive of those was Alex Liddi's SECOND grand slam in as many days!

Jason Vargas started and added another THREE scoreless innings to his previous SIX.  In fact, M's pitchers combined to give up only FOUR hits and struck out SEVEN (ok, so the THREE walks weren't great, but you can't have everything)

FIVE hits and a WALK in 2.2 innings but, only ONE run allowed.  He seems to be enjoying his new role as mentor though, he reportedly cut his post-start interview short so he could get back in the dugout to watch Michael Pineda pitch.

TWO scoreless innings with only ONE hit (but TWO walks)

AND WHADAYA KNOW? SOME OFFENSE
Granted there were only SIX hits, and the scoring was bunched up in the middle innings, but runs are runs.
