In the wake of Ken Rosenthal's column yesterday there has been much speculation on Yankee and Mariner boards alike as to the wisdom of trading Felix.
my thoughts about the trade "rumors"...
Not now (hopefully not EVER).
Even to those who think that trading Felix is the way to go because of the prospects he could garner, what's the rush? It's highly unlikely that his value is going to go down in the next year or two. And, in the meantime, the M's (and their fans) can have the pleasure of watching him pitch every 5th day, not to mention benefit from the intangibles he bring just being on the club - mentoring the young guns by example and deed and providing overall fun and positivity in the clubhouse
Besides, it isn't totally out of the realm of possibility that some of the Mariners own prospects pan out (or better) and/or Jack is able to acquire some decent FA's and/or draft picks, and this thing is rolling along. Maybe, just maybe, they could make Felix a lifer.
Maybe, just maybe, we don't need no stinkin' yankee prospects.
:-)
