The annual charity game vs. the San Diego Padres at the shared Peoria Sports Complex was played today (I thought the stats didn't count for the spring totals but, I guess they do)
Mostly stellar pitching...
- Jason Vargas tossed FOUR PERFECT innings and recorded ONE strikeout
- The rest of the pitchers combined to give up SIX hits and only ONE walk
- Grube was the only one to give up any earned runs (in fact he gave up all FOUR runs the Padres scored) yet he was the recorded "winner" (gotta love those rules for the winning pitcher ... NOT!)
3-3 with a homer, 2 runs scored, 2 RBI and a nice play at 3B

and the other hitters...
- Figgy is still hitless but, he did walk and score a run (and apparently started in CF - I didn't get to listen, so don't know how that part went)
- Montero and Wilson had the other runs
- Montero also posted an RBI via a double
- Chavez also had an RBI, of the WINNING variety!
