Watching from section 330 above home plate...
't was looking like another possible 1-0 game...
0-0 thru FIVE with both starting pitchers dealing - each had EIGHT strikeouts, ZERO walks - but the M's had ZERO hits to the O's THREE. Then in the 6th, Felix lost his rhythm (gassed from the 128 pitches vs. Boston?) and gave up FOUR straight singles, got ONE out and then another single for a total of FOUR runs and he was out of the game.
Things appeared very bleak, until...
Casper, the friendly RBI guy, got the M's first hit - a rocket to left field on a 3-2 pitch with one out in the 7th. He also made a great sliding catch earlier in the game. The clambering for Casper to play everyday is getting louder by the inning :-)

The M's mounted a lat rally in the 8th - after Miggy flied out, Michael Saunders checked in with a double and Chen was pulled. And then, the bats went a little crazy vs. Strop: Smoak drove Saunders in with a single, Ackley singled and then Jaso pinch hit for Ryan and drove in Smoak, Casper was hit by a pitch to load the bases and Kyle Seager drew a walk (accounting for his 25th RBI with two outs) that tied the game.
Kudos to Ollie Perez...
2.1IP - ZERO runs - ZERO walks - ONE hit - THREE strikeouts
All was rocking at the Safe during that 8th inning...
and then Charlie "scoreless-innings-streak" Furbush came in for the 9th to hold the tie - things went silent when, on a 2-2 with 2-outs, Andino deposited one in the same spot that Casper had and, not only did the road to victory become a bit tougher, Charlie lost his scoreless innings streak at 23 1/3 (third longest ever by a Mariner reliever).
And .... the rally was non-existant in the 9th...
apparently, even my "road grays" weren't enough to provide that "away" feeling...
Let's take the series tomorrow and make it a really Happy 4th!
