g54 | hard lessons in ChiTown

Mariners 4 | White Sox 7

Well, so, anything after the 21-run barrage was bound to be a bit of a disappointment...
But, I doubt many expected the struggles would start with Felix (despite his last poor outing - he rarely throws back-to-back stinkers) and end with poor center field defense (Saunders - who has been great in CF all season, had a fly ball bounce off his cheek in the 8th that allowed the lead-off batter to reach base - he, and two others, would eventually score).

Felix only gave up FIVE hits and struck out SIX...
trouble is, he only pitched FIVE innings and THREE of the FIVE hits were homers.
He also walked FOUR and hit ONE.
The UNhappy Felix days appear to be mounting.

the bats battle back...
Ichiro is back at lead-off had a hit and scored a run but, it was the NC connection ~batting second and third, just like in college~ and Smoak who electrified the order:  5/9 with 3 runs scored and 4 driven in

League goes 1+...
good to see Brandon retire the side in order for an inning and then come out and get a couple more batters  (via a nice outfield assist by Saunders)

Yes, it was another loss...
but, not one without good lessons and good work.
