g34 | heartbreak at camden...

Mariners 5 | Orioles 6

How could a day where so many things went so RIGHT...
  • 3 homeruns??  Ichiro, Mike and Michael
  • When was the last time the M's hit three  in one week, let alone one game?!?
  • Hits, Runs, RBI from the top, middle and bottom of the order
  • Felix was Felix again ~ 7IP - 5H - 1Er - 2BB - 7K
  • a nice 4-run lead heading to the bottom of the 8th...

 end so WRONG?
  • solo shot - ok, no biggie, but 5 batters later...
  • the dagger - no breaking out of rye bread and mustard out for this one though
  • but wait - can they come back in the 9th?!?
  • ground out, HBP, walk, strike out, single .... and ..... OUT at the plate to end the game

    1. I won't remind you (directly) about my comments regarding the M's Bullpen!

You probably don't want to hear about that!

Just a little comic relief for you, Lisa!

This guy is my new hero!

Let me know what ya think!

    2. It's not that the M's specifically needed a lefty at the end of that game ~ in my hindsight opinion ~ they needed to let their righty-ace pitch to a few more batters and then use a FRESH reliever (e.g., Shawn Kelley) instead of one who has been a bit over-used lately.

    3. As for Bruce (and the Tribe)...

Been meaning to ask my friend Jean about that (as she originally hails from Ohio and loves all things Cleveland). Though she is placated at the moment by her adopted team's early surprising success (the Pads!).

So Jean, what say you about Bruce's commetary on your beloved Tribe?

    4. That's true, also!

They just left him out there the entire time?!
      Wow, that's really bad managing!

That was from last year and I just think he's great. He's basically just like Harry Doyle!
