g35 | not the way to end the home stand...

Mariners 2 | White Sox 5

The weather was pretty swell (first game I didn't have to wear a jacket AND sweatshirt)...
But, the game left a LOT to be desired.  Eirk was decent (six K's through the first three innings) but then a comedy of errors allowed two runs to score.  I'm not normally into placing blame (or assigning credit) solely on one player but, it seems pretty evident (even to "homer" Rick Rizzs) that Milton's errant throw to the plate was the play (or lack thereof) that turned the game to the White Sox favor.  Had the throw been on-line, the runner would have been out, the inning would have been over.  Instead, not only did Konerko score, but Rios scored behind him due to confusion at/around the plate after the off-line throw.

The M's were able to draw even in the 5th via a Jack C double, two singles (Brendan, Jack W) and an Ichiro sac-fly and the pen ~David, Jamey and Brandon~ was able to shut the Sox down through through the next four innings.  Unfortunately, Brandon's second inning (the 10th) didn't go so well and the Sox pulled ahead via a couple of doubles and a single.  Laffey had to come in and get the last two outs in the top of the 10th but, the bats were unable to push anything across in the bottom of the inning.

Some interesting issues / decisions to be made...
Never a dull moment in Marinerland.

UPDATE: NewsTribune | Mike Wilson to be called up by the Mariners
