In the second game yesterday, the offense was explosive and the pitching was nearly shut out. Sort of the reverse today ... the pitching sort of exploded and while not shut out, the bats where shut down. Definitely not EriK and the pen's best day...

“Rob Johnson threw two guys out trying to steal one inning, Wladimir Balentien made a great catch in left field to save me another time,” Bedard said. “I held them to one run for a while, but I just wasn’t pitching well.”

“I tried to get out of it with a breaking ball, but they got the ball in the air and got the runs home to tie it,” Kelley said.

On the rosier side ...
~Beltre broke out a bit (you knew it was just a matter of time) with a 4 for 4 day including an RBI double
~Junior also had a double of the 2 RBI variety

They head home for an off-day on Thursday and then play host to the 'phants over the weekend.
