Mariners 1 | Braves 3
Had some stuff to do, so didn't get to see much of this game.
I sat down in the top of the 7th as Aaron Laffey was coming into pitch in relief of Erik who put up another quality start, going seven innings and giving up only four hits - problem was two were homers (one solo shot, one 2-run). Aaron retired two quickly then gave up a double and a single before getting the 3rd out via FC.
Dustin singled to start the bottom half of the 7th and Miggy hit one to deep center that the fielder made an awesome sliding catch for the first out. Mike got aboard on a chopper that was muffed by the catcher but then Guti GDIP ... argh! The score remained at 3-1 with the M's only run from Adam's lead-off home back in the 4th - his sixth of the season.
Chris Ray came in for the 8th and retired the side in order but the M's couldn't come up with any runs in the 9th and haven't won two in a row since June 17th.
Merry Michael Day tomorrow!
