M's 7 | Tigers 9
Haven't brought myself to watch the replay of Franklin's collision with the centerfield scoreboard...
The written and verbal descriptions were bad enough. Luckily, it sounds like it looked worse than it was. X-rays on his elbow were negative and he is day-to-day with contusions to his elbow and knee - whew!
Normally, a game where the M's rack up 13 hits (including 4 homers and 2 doubles) and score 7 runs winds up in the W column...
Unfortunately, Garrett wasn't up to snuff today (giving up 7 runs in less than 2 innings). Although, for the most part, the pen was decent enough. Chris did OK, Shawn K struggled a bit but Roy and Sean W did what they needed to do. The bats just couldn't come through in the 8th and 9th, after scoring in every inning but the 2nd
But, it was nice to see the "never say die" effort...
and Ryan and Jack with their first Mariner homers (Jack with two - who knew?!?)
