Jarrod pitched his heart out and deserved SO much better...

A little salt was added to the wound in seeing Adam Jones score the only O's run and George Sherrill lock down the save for them :-(

Unfortunately, the bottom of the first inning turned out to be an omen for the remaining eight. Ichiro ended up on third (having hit a double and taken third on an error) and he was left stranded there. Wak was understandably frustrated...
"It's an awful shame to squander a pitching performance like that by Washburn. ... Same thing we've been talking about all year: fundamental baseball," Seattle manager Don Wakamatsu said. "We have a lack of patience against a guy like Rich Hill."
Erik goes tomorrow ~ first time vs. his old team...
Washburns pitching well enough to be considered for MY all-star team, of course..the lame MLB just goes on wins/losses.
ReplyDeleteAdam Jones is right up there for most improved player.
I see Branyans batting 2nd. Looks like Wak wants Ichiros hit streak to last a while.
And, it lasted for one more night...
ReplyDeleteIchi broke his own record - 26 straight.
Russ seems to like the 2 hole...
2 for 4 with a homer, a walk and 2RBI
Yeah, I saw! This hitting streak might go for a while.
ReplyDeleteIchiro is batting lead off, gets a ton of infield hits, walks rarely, strikes out rarely and has someone good batting behind him.
He should get to the mid 30's.
and I'll repeat, Bedards the best pitcher on the Mariners and maybe the whole AL West.
P.S. Take a look at the A's rotation now Lisa! 4 Rookies and one sophmore!
