Isn't it nice when a plan comes together?
(heck, it's just great to have a plan for a change!)
  • Ichiro extended his hitting streak to 26, breaking his own franchise record.
  • Russell was slated in the 'magic' 2-hole and he showed his muscle (2-run homer)
  • The MO bats finally showing a spark (heck, down right FLAME) Adrian, Jr. and Jose each went 3-for-5 combining for five RBI - including a homer and 2 doubles for Jr and three doubles for Jose - it was an XBH party!
"We're looking for some of those guys to step up and they did tonight," Wakamatsu said.

"Switching it up a little bit, it's nice to get Ichiro and Russell up there as many times as we did," Wakamatsu said. "We felt like we were pressuring those guys in every inning."

The Mariners had runners as far as second base in every inning and scored in five of their eight at-bats.

"What I care about is these guys clicking as a team," Wakamatsu said. "It was the first time in a long time that I felt we pressurized them every single inning."

A bit lost in the hit parade was another solid 6+ performance from Erik, with Sean backing him up for 1.2 innings. And, it was nice to see Denny get a little confidence boost at the end (granted, it was "garbage time" but - baby steps).
