G66 | Petco streak ends at 10

.

M's 3 Padres 4

Guess it was bound to happen...
At least the M's won the series and Brandon got in a few more innings...
He's now just a little over where he should have been coming out of ST ... baby steps.
Still way too many pitches for 4IP, but only one walk (and 6K's) is definitely progress.

the XBH just keep coming...
Jr with another double and Frankie pouring on the power with 2 more home runs!

Who says Petco plays big???

new kid in town...
Way to go, Mike! 1 for 3 with a walk and a run scored in his first big league start

Road trip ends up 4-5 (couple pitcher errors ...argh!! from being 6-3)

Now home to play AZ and SD before heading into the toughest road trip so far this season....
Dodgers, Yankees and Red Sox

  1. I think you mean 6-3!

When is Clement coming up Lisa?!

  2. you are right (corrected, thanks - math has never been my strong suit ;-)

    Where would Jeff play?
We seem to have a glut of 1B, C and DH

I think Michael Saunders is the one fans/bloggers have been clamboring for...

  3. catcher (if he's at least decent at defense.)

    This is my batting order!

    Chavez
    Suzuki
    Lopez
    Branyan
    Lopez
    Griffey/Sweeney
    Clement
    Betancourt
    Gutierrez

Use that one and I guarentee more runs!

  4. That's the rub, he's not all that great at defense.
AND - Kenji (and his big contract) will be coming off the DL soon....

Call me naive (or non-baseball savy) but I think batting order is over-rated. Sure, the guys at the top do get an AB or two more each game, but other than that I see no advantage/disadvantage as it turns out different every inning 'cept the first.

  5. you're naive ;)! I guess we'll just disagree unless I brainwash you!

sure it turns over everytime, but if you're the manager and Branyan batting 1st and Ichiros batting last, you'd be fired within hours!

The batting order also dictates what kind of hitter you are. Having Ichiro Suzuki, (one of the greatest hitters of all time and with some power!) being relegated to singles as his primary job, it just seems like a waste of talent to me.

Yeah, johjima was a big mistake!

    How'd I do?!

  6. Here's hoping I'm upset to miss the game tonight (in other words - that it's a great game with the good guys winning!)

More graduation celebration, so won't be able to see/hear the game or post until tomorrow....

    Go Mariners!
    Go Dodgers!
    Go Giants!
    Go Padres!
